I took the advantage of warmer temperatures yesterday to turn over the garden beds. The soil was richly black - my definition of success and wildly promising for a great garden season!

Not every day on the homestead is a peaceful one unfortunately. The well pump decided to go out over the New Year weekend. Today they are working on replacing it. Time to bring the big equipment out.
If you didn't know, most lambs are born around 8-9 pounds. Scarlett was born at 2.5 pounds. She is the tiniest, most adorable thing I think we have seen here at the homestead. She has to be bottle fed every 3 hours. She is doing great and has the most spontaneous personality. Take a look at her size comparison to the hens.
